Rancho Cucamonga firm makes another acquisition

A geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting company in Rancho Cucamonga has bought a company in Nevada, its 12th acquisition in three and a half years.

RMA Cos. purchased Reno-based Black Eagle Consulting, a 27-year-old company whose clients include U.S. and state agencies, municipal public works departments and power and utility agencies, according to a Feb. 8 statement.

Cost of the transaction was not disclosed.

“Black Eagle is another great addition to the RMA family of companies,” said Ed Lyon, RMA’s chief executive officer, in the statement. “The resources of our teams in Nevada will allow us to serve our clients across [Nevada] and throughout the southwestern United States.”

Founded in 1962, RMA helps engineering firms and construction companies comply with regulatory and operating requirements.

RMA is a portfolio company of OceanSound Partners, a New York firm that invests in technology businesses that work with government clients.
