Rancho Cucamonga is scheduled to hold two more community workshops to discuss the future of Central Park, the 57,000-square-foot facility at the northwest corner of Milliken Avenue and Base Line Road.
The sessions are scheduled to be held Sept 19 and Oct. 9 at Goldy S. Norton Community Center, which is in Central Park, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Both “reVISION sessions will run from 6-8 p.m. The meetings, the first of which was held earlier this month, are being hosted by the city council and the park and recreation commission.
There have been two updates to the Central Park Master Plan since 1987. Both of those documents envisioned major upgrades to the facility, but because of budget restraints only a few of those improvements happened.
Currently the city doesn’t have money to build at Central Park, but it does want to have a plan in place in case funding comes available, according to the statement.
