Anthony Mwene Musumba, an assistant physics professor at Riverside City College, will receive the 2024 Homer L. Dodge Citation for Distinguished Service to the American Association of Physics Teachers.
Musumba is being recognized for “his exceptional contributions to the association’s mission and his dedicated efforts to advance excellence within the two-year college physics community,” according to a statement on the school’s website.
Musumba, an association member since 2008, has served on its committee on diversity in physics and its committee on two-year colleges.
“I am deeply touched and honored for this recognition,” Musumba said in the statement. “I thank the [physics teachers’ association] for making this possible, along with my colleagues at Riverside City College.”
He will receive the citation at the association’s 2024 winter meeting, which is scheduled to be held in January in New Orleans.
