Inland Empire tech firms added 8,210 jobs between 2017 and 2022, a 44 percent growth rate, according to data released this week.
The two-county region also ranked among the top 10 North American markets for software engineers working in the tech industry, and it was the fourth most-diverse market for tech degree graduates, according to CBRE’s 2023 Scoring Tech Talent Report.
The Inland Empire was included among markets with fewer than 50,000 tech workers.
Overall, the United States and Canada have added 760,000 tech-talent jobs since 2020, mostly in tech-heavy markets like San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Vancouver.
Los Angeles-Orange County was a top education market, producing 69,293 tech graduates from 2017 to 2021, behind only the New York metropolitan area, which produced 101,687, CBRE reported.
The Scoring Tech Talent report covers 75 North American markets. It ranks the top 50 tech markets in the United States and Canada and details tech talent labor market trends.
