The Inland Empire is the fifth fastest-growing small business markets in California, according to a report.
Eight of the top 10 markets are in Northern California, with San Francisco topping the list, according to the California Rising Cities Small Business Index, the inaugural version of which was released recently.
The greater Los Angeles-Orange County market ranked seventh, the only other Southern California market to make the list.
The rankings are compiled by Funding Circle, a global small business loans platform that connects investors and businesses. Funding Circle was founded in 2010 and is operating in the United States, the United Kingdom the Netherlands and Germany.
“California is a state of small business owners, and particularly in Northern California we see the significant, positive impact that local entrepreneurs have on our communities,” said Bernardo Martinez, managing director of Funding Circle USA, in a statement.
