Riverside County has settled a lawsuit regarding juvenile detention fees.
Parents and guardians who had to pay detention fees between Dec. 21, 2016 and April 21, 2020 may be eligible for a refund due the settlement of a class-action lawsuit, according to statement on the county’s website.
The potential returns also apply to wage and income tax garnishments. The settlement has not been formally approved in court.
Class members aren’t required to take any action to receive their refund. However, they must notify the settlement administrator if they have changed their address.
