Riverside brings back green biz program

Riverside has joined with the California Green Business Network to provide environmental information to local businesses.

The information, which will be provided for free, will help Riverside entrepreneurs save money while operating their businesses more efficiently, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The relaunched City of Riverside Green Business Program – the first was stopped because of Covid-19 – will design environmental consulting programs to fit the individual needs of a business, so that it can be designated a Certified Green Business.

Emphasis will be placed on consuming less energy and water, preventing pollution and diverting waste from landfills.

“This program offers a range of benefits to help businesses grow and thrive while contributing to a greener, more sustainable future,” Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson said in the statement.

Interested parties may register at  this link.  Registered businesses receive a checklist of Green Business Program measures, and a program representative will then explain the certification process, and schedule a visit.
