Polymer Logistics in Riverside has been named a Top Green Provider for 2016 by Food Logistics, a magazine and online publication devoted exclusively to reporting on the global food supply chain.
The award recognizes companies whose products and services improve sustainability in the food and beverage industry, according to a statement released Tuesday.
“Our team is grateful to be named one of Food Logistics’ Top Green Providers for 2016,” Gideon Feiner, Polymer Logistics’ chief executive officer, said in the statement. “ We work hard every day to reduce our carbon footprint and provide our customers and partners with product offerings that preserve the environment.”
Polymer Logistics makes reusable storage and display products, including collapsible bins and stacking crates that are more affordable and more environmentally friendly than traditional packaging.
Last year, Walmart began using Polymer’s wood-stained bins in some of their produce sections in order to create a more natural feel.
