Riverside County donates to local nonprofits

Riverside County will donate $15 million to local nonprofits with money it received from the American Rescue Plan Act.

In August, the board of supervisors voted to form Riverside County Nonprofit Roundtable to develop a public-private-community partnership, according to a statement on the county’s website.

“Led by leaders from throughout the county’s nonprofit community, the nonprofit roundtable provides invaluable guidance to best allocate funds to ensure we can do the most good for as many residents as possible,” said Supervisor Karen Spiegel in the statement.

The roundtable, which formed early this year, decided to provide direct financial support and funding to local nonprofits, although it did not specify which ones.

“We thank the board and all who see the value in working in partnership with local nonprofits to increase and support the well-being of residents,” said Lisa Wright, roundtable chair, in the statement.
