Riverside County supervisors delay CV vote

Riverside County officials have delayed a decision on whether to rescind four orders from the county’s public health officer regarding the Coronavirus pandemic.

After an 11-hour meeting Tuesday, the board of supervisors agreed unanimously to resume discussion of that proposal during a special meeting scheduled to be held Friday, according to multiple reports.

Board members said they hope by then to have a better understanding of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s  plan for reopening businesses. Newsom is expected to provide more details about the plan today.

More than 100 people signed up to speak in person or by phone during the meeting. Public comments lasted more than five hours, with most people who spoke in person favoring eliminating the orders, according to reports.
