Riverside County has released a proposed $10 billion budget for the fiscal year 2025-’26, which will begin July 1.
The budget, which the board of supervisors will discuss during budget hearings scheduled to be held June 9 and 10, proposes spending approximately $73 million from the county’s reserves to reduce expected impacts to services, according to a statement on the county’s website.
The budget includes $2.8 billion for health services, $2.3 billion for public safety, $2 billion for human services and $1.2 billion for public works. It also allocates $585 million for the county’s transportation department.
Board members are expected to take action during the budget hearings. The county held its largest-ever community outreach while putting together this year’s budget.
“This year, we engaged residents in new ways to provide input in the county budget process,” said Board Chairman V. Manuel Perez said in the statement. “I hope we continue to see this level of community participation, and appreciate the conversations with residents, as they shared their concerns.”
