Riverside food maker buys larger facility

A food manufacturer has bought a high-tech food production facility in Perris.

RM5 Holdings, LLC, an entity of Jimenez Foods Inc., paid $8.09 million for the building at 20343 Harvill Ave., according to Avison Young.

The seller, represented by Avison Young, was a pet food manufacturer whose name was not released.

The sale price included upgrading much of the building’s food-processing equipment to medical-grade standards.

Because it needs more space, Jimenez Foods will move its Riverside operation to the larger building in Perris, which it plans to fully occupy. It will produce products for its own brand there as well as products for private labels.

Jimenez Foods was founded in 1969. It plans to move into the building immediately.

The building was constructed in 2003 and upgraded for food processing in 2014. It sits on 3.3 acres, has 1,800 square feet of freezer storage and more than 7,140 square feet of refrigerated cold storage and production, according to the statement.
