Riverside is asking the people it does business with how it can do a better job.
The city’s purchasing division is surveying its vendors – past, present, and some it may hire in the future – to find out how it can improve its purchasing and contracting practices, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The program is scheduled to last through Feb. 26. It’s available at riversideca.gov/finance/vendor-survey.asp.
Like all cities, Riverside routinely conducts business with private sector to keep the city running smoothly. Purchases range from vehicles and computers, to services like landscaping, security, and janitorial, and large public projects like street repairing and repairing constructing buildings.
Data from the survey will be analyzed by the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Results from the survey will not affect vendor contracts the city has now, according to the statement.
