Cal State University San Bernardino receives grant money

Riverside PD wants to help business to improve their security

The Riverside Police Department is offering grants of up to $10,000 to city businesses that want to upgrade their security measures.

Funding from the American Rescue Plan Act will help pay for surveillance cameras, lighting, fencing, and other security-related items, according to a statement on the city’s website.

All for-profit businesses with fewer than 50 employees and valid Riverside business licenses are eligible to apply. Annual revenue must not be more than $2.5 million, and only one grant per business owner will be issued.

“We are excited to announce this opportunity for our local businesses to enhance their security measures that not only better protect their property, but help reduce crime in their neighborhood,” said Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzalez in the statement.

To apply for the Safety and Security Program business grant, and review the full list of qualifications, go to www.RiversideCA.gov/RPD/ARPA-Grant-Application.

Applications should be submitted to [email protected].
