Riverside’s public and private sector will gather to help victims of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.
“Riverside Gives” is scheduled to run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Riverside Convention Center at Fifth and Main streets in downtown Riverside, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Government representatives, members of the business community and officials from local non-profit organizations will help raise money and donate blood for people affected by both natural disasters.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit and make a donation during that 12-hour period. The Red Cross will make certain that all donations are used to provide food, shelter and other emergency services.
Riverside, the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, the Riverside Convention and Visitors Bureau, the mayor’s office and the Riverside police and fire departments are all expected to participate, according to the statement.
