Rose named UofR department dean

Justin Rose has been named dean of the University of Redlands’ College of Arts and Sciences.

Rose is on the faculty at Rhodes College in Tennessee, where he is dean for faculty recruitment, development, and diversity and chair of the Department of Politics and Law, according to a statement.

He is scheduled to join the University of Redlands July 1.

Rose has a doctorate in government from the University of Virginia. He was an associate professor of political science and director of the Africana Studies program at Hobart and William Smith colleges before he joined the Rhodes faculty.

Rose was also an administrative fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, according to the statement.
