Riverside University Health System-Medical Center has been ranked the top hospital in California for social responsibility.
The medical center in Moreno Valley was awarded the top spot among 257 acute care hospitals for 2026-‘27 by the Lown Institute Hospitals Index, an independent healthcare policy institute in Needham Mass.
RUHS-MC was also ranked 28th out of 2,698 acute care hospital nationwide.
“Providing exceptional care to all patients who walk through our doors is at the core of what we do at RUHS-MC,” said Dr. Alexandra Clark, chief medical officer, in a statement. “As the safety-net hospital for Riverside County, we work to ensure every resident who visit is has the best possible health outcome.”
This is the third time RUHS-MC has been ranked in the index, which the Lown Institute has published annually since 2020. It is based on equity, value, and outcome of treatment, according to institute.
