San Bernardino County assists nonprofits

San Bernardino County, in partnership with the Inland Empire Community Foundation, has awarded $3.4 million to 216 nonprofits.

The funding, distributed through the county’s Nonprofit Assistance Fund, is meant to help organizations that have struggled to maintain services during COVID-19, according to a foundation statement released yesterday.

The grants ranged from $2,500 to $20,000.

Recipients included the Inland Conservatory for the Performing Arts Inc., the Inland Empire Central Office for Alcoholics Anonymous Inc, Technical Employment Training Inc. and the Greater Ontario Business Council. Each received $20,000.

The Inland Empire Community Foundation was in charge of the application and review process. The county distributed the grants based on the foundation’s recommendations.

“Nonprofits in our county provide vital, life-saving services to our residents and the pandemic has stretched their resources and capacity,” said Board of Supervisors Chairman Curt Hagman in the statement. “We are grateful for the work they do to serve all of our communities during this challenging time.”
