San Bernardino County employees have raised $15,000 in a month-long food drive sponsored by the county.
Workers in the Human Services Department, in partnership with the County Administrative Office and Human Resources, raised the money on behalf of the annual food basket program, according to the statement on the county’s website.
That program is sponsored by the county’s Community Action Partnership, a private, non-profit agency that helps county residents achieve self-reliance and financial stability.
“My thanks go out to our county employees for their generous and selfless donations,” said Dawn Rowe, chair of the board of supervisors, in the statement.
County employees have raised more than $60,000 in cash and 116,000 canned food items for the community action partnership during the past eight years, according to the statement.
