San Bernardino County has received 160 Achievement Awards from the National Association of Counties.
The awards for public service programs top the 82 awards San Bernardino County received last year, the most any U.S. county, according to a statement.
The association’s achievement awards are given out in 18 categories. San Bernardino County was recognized for excellence in emergency response, homeless services, health care, social services, and animal care, among other categories.
“This is exciting news for the county and the people that we serve,” said Board of Supervisors Chair Dawn Rowe in the statement. “I am proud of the dedication and innovation our more than 22,000 employees bring to their jobs each day. These awards show we are working hard at the county to serve our residents.”
