San Bernardino is accepting applications for a facade improvement program for local businesses.
The “Paintbrush Program” will provide $10,000 to $20,000 grants along multiple business corridors, grants that will help those businesses improve their appearance, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Possible improvements might be new exterior signs, awnings, canopies or sunshades, painting, stone or brick replacement or asphalt repairs.
“This is a great opportunity to spruce up our commercial corridors and to assist local entrepreneurs invest in the improvement of their businesses,” said Ken Chapa, San Bernardino’s economic development director, in the statement.
The $1 million program will be paid for with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act. Grants will be distributed first-come, first-served, and all improvements must be visible from a public right-of-way.
