San Bernardino County Fleet Management has been named the top fleet in the United States by the National Association of Fleet Administrators.
The fleet management team, which acquires and maintains most of the county’s vehicles, was one of 11 California agencies listed by the association in its annual “100 Best Fleets in the Americas” contest, according to a statement on the county’s website.
Riverside, the only other Inland Empire entity listed, was 45th.
San Bernardino County Fleet Management employs about 100 people. Its main garage in San Bernardino includes automotive, heavy duty, welding-metal fabrication and generator service shops along with a parts room and fueling station.
The department also operates a service center Barstow, Victorville, Needles, Rancho Cucamonga and Twentynine Palms.
NAFA is a trade organization that represents individuals who manage vehicles for their employers, according to the statement.
