SB County receives award

The San Bernardino County Economic Development Agency has been recognized for its recent State of the County event.

The National Association of Counties awarded the county its 2014 Achievement Award in Community/Economic Development for that event, the 31st award San Bernardino County has received from the association this year, according to a statement.

About 1,000 people attend the annual State of the County, which outlines how the county, its residents and businesses are trying to improve the quality of life in the county.

The award was announced last week.

“We appreciate the recognition, as it underscores the positive work being done in the county to encourage greater economic opportunity,” said Kelly Reenders, the county’s economic development agency administrator, in a statement.
