Ensen Mason, San Bernardino County’s incoming auditor-controller/treasurer/tax collector, held a fundraiser Oct. 18 at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse Wine & Bar in Rancho Cucamonga.
The event, which was MC’d by California Republican Party Chairman Jim Brulte, raised “tens of thousands of dollars” to help pay Mason’s campaign debt, according to a statement released by Mason’s office.
Supervisors Janice Rutherford, Josie Gonzales and Curt Hagman attended, as did State Sen. Mike Morrell, R-Rancho Cucamonga, who led the invocation.
Board Chairman Robert Lovingood did not attend because of a business commitment but did serve on the host committee.
In June, Mason scored a 51 percent to 49 percent victory against incumbent Oscar Valdez. He is scheduled to take office Jan. 7.
