San Bernardino International Airport has the most affordable airfares among all U.S. airports, according to a major travel publication.
Passengers departing San Bernardino International in 2022 paid an average fare of $98.03, the lowest among all of the country’s commercial airports, Travel+Leisure reported last month.
That finding was based on data gathered by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by Travel + Leisure for offering the lowest-cost airfares in the country, a primary reason why customers continue to choose San Bernardino International Airport for their travel needs,” said Mark Gibbs, San Bernardino International’s aviation director, in a statement.
One year ago, Breeze Airways began offering San Bernardino International’s first passenger flights, which are nonstop to San Francisco with one-stop service to Provo, Utah. In February, Breeze added flights to Las Vegas, which continue to Hartford, Conn.
Nearly 50,000 travelers have flown on those flights, according to the statement.
