SBIA tallies first commercial passengers

Nearly 20,000 passengers flew in and out of San Bernardino International Airport last year on the airport’s first commercial carrier.

Breeze Airways began daily nonstop flights between San Bernardino and San Francisco International Airport Aug, 4, and reached that passenger count by the end of November, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

[“This is] a major achievement,  and just the beginning of passenger service at San Bernardino International,” said Mike Burrows, the airport’s chief executive officer, in the statement.

“San Bernardino International had more than 70 percent of all seats filled in November, and all indications point to December having even higher passenger counts.”

Breeze, a discount airline based in Utah, is scheduled to begin flights from San Bernardino International to Hartford, Ct. and Las Vegas in February, according to the statement.
