American Airlines has begun daily seasonal flights from the Coachella Valley to Austin, Texas.
The first set of flights from Palm Springs International Airport to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport began Nov. 17 and will run through Nov. 29, according to statement on Palm Springs’ website.
The second set of flights are scheduled to start on Dec. 15 and conclude May 4, 2023.
“American Airlines is excited to provide nonstop access from Palm Springs to central Texas, and more one-stop connections across the airline’s network this summer,” said Philippe Puech, American Airlines director of short-haul network planning, in the statement.
The extra seasonal flights are based on the demand for Thanksgiving and Christmas flights one year ago, Pueche said.
American Airlines now offers year-round service to Dallas-Fort Worth and Phoenix and seasonal service to Chicago O’Hare International and Austin from Palm Springs International, according to the statement.
