A public service is scheduled to be held Friday to mark the first anniversary of the Inland Regional Center shootings in San Bernardino.
The service, scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm., will take place at Cal State San Bernardino’s Coussoulis Arena, according to a statement.
The San Bernardino mayor’s office partnered with Cal State San Bernardino, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and the San Bernardino Community College District to bring about the “Night of Remembrance.”
Speakers from religious organizations, law enforcement, federal agencies and other organizations will reflect on last year’s tragedy, which left 14 people dead and 22 wounded. President Obama declared the shootings an act of terrorism.
“I am humbled by the partners that have come together to unite for this event,” Mayor R. Carey Davis said in the statement. “Our community continues to stand together united in solidarity and support for the victims, survivors, and families of those affected by the December 2nd terrorist attack.”
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the public at no charge. In addition, the event will air on the city’s YouTube channel.
