Star Crab to open in Fontana

Star Crab, the Cajun-style seafood restaurant that started in Riverside in 2013, will open a restaurant at Fontana Plaza.

The restaurant chain has leased 5,800 square feet at Fontana Plaza, 9860 Sierra Ave., according to a statement released Wednesday by Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga.
Progressive, which specializes in small to medium-sized retail deals in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, represented both parties in the negotiations.

Details of the 10-year agreement were not disclosed. Star Crab expects to open next summer in a space formerly occupied by Sizzler.

Fontana Plaza, which is 98 percent leased, covers 150,000 square feet at 9860 Sierra Ave. Its tenants include El Super, CVS, Star Crab, Waba Grill, Yogurtland, Baskin Robbins, King Taco, GNC, H & R Block and State Farm Insurance.

About 45,000 vehicles pass by the shopping mall on a typical day.

This will be Star Crab’s sixth restaurant in Southern California and fourth in the Inland Empire, according to the statement.
