Fontana has received $3 million from the state to help start its downtown revitalization, a mixed-use project that will bring more housing, jobs, and entertainment into the city’s central business district.
The grant, arranged by Assemblywoman Eloise Gomez Reyes, D-San Bernardino, will also help pay for the expansion of the Fontana Art Museum, restoration of a downtown mural and a branding of downtown and a 9/11 memorial, according to a statement on the city website.
“It is with great pride and excitement that we embark on a transformative journey to revitalize downtown Fontana,” said Mayor Acquanetta Warren in the statement. “The city council and I have embarked on a vision for a Downtown Arts and Historic District that will honor our past and pave the way for a vibrant future.”
