State job growth bounces back

Employers in California added 47,600 job in July, according to data released Friday.

That impressive gain, however, wasn’t enough to move the state’s unemployment rate lower than 4.2 percent, a record low but the same percentage posted in June, the State Employment Development Department reported.

Only 800 jobs were added in California in June.

Nine of the state’s 11 industrial sectors added jobs last month, starting with professional and business services, which added 15,100.

Riverside and San Bernardino counties last month posted unemployment rates of 4.7 percent and 4.4 percent, respectively, according to the department.
