California’s unemployment rate dropped to 8.5 percent in November.
That represented a decline of one-fifth of a percentage point from October, according to an Associated Press report.
California has added 903,000 jobs since February 2010, according to the report, which cited data from the Employment Development Department.
The state is still well ahead of the national unemployment rate, which was seven percent in November. Nearly 1.6 million people were unemployed in California last month, according to the report.
