Stater Bros. has begun accepting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) EBT payments for orders made through Instacart.
The change, announced Monday, will make same-day delivery and pick-up available to more customers, making it easier for them to find fresh, healthy food, according to a statement on the supermarket chain’s website.
“Stater Bros. has always been committed to caring for our local communities,” said Rebecca Calvin, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, in the statement. “This partnership allows us to do just that, by making affordable same-day delivery and pickup accessible to more Southern California families.”
Stater Bros. Markets and Instacart first partnered in 2016 to offer same-day pickup and delivery. EBT [Electronic Benefits Transfer] is available on Instacart through Carrot Payments, which is part of Instacart’s platform.
Customers may enter their EBT food card information as payment through their Instacart account profile, according to the statement.
