Stater Bros. has donated a mobile emergency command center to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The 40-foot trailer, which Stater Bros. stopped using in 2010, is equipped with a communication system, flat-screen monitor, conference and storage areas and space for computers, according to a Stater Bros. release.
The trailer will be used for emergencies and special events.
“This donation from Stater Bros. greatly benefits the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department by providing the flexibility of having multiple emergency command center sites,” said Lt. Sam Fisk in a statement. “Having multiple sites, strategically placed for special events and emergency situations, allows us to better meet the needs of both [the department] and the community.”
San Bernardino-based Stater Bros. is the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California and the largest private employer in the Inland Empire, with 168 locations and more than 18,000 employees, according to the statement.
