Stater Bros. re-ups effort to prevent running out of items

Stater Bros. partners with professional soccer team

Stater Bros. has entered into a marketing partnership with the Los Angeles Football Club and one of its players, Fontana native Christian Torres.

The grocery store chain will post signs inside the team’s home stadium, Banc of California Stadium, and a Stater Bros. commercial featuring Torres will be shown on the broadcasts of the team’s games on KCOP Ch. 13, according to a statement released Wednesday.

Stater Bros. will give out awards during those broadcasts, and LAFC – as the team is commonly known – and Torres will be featured on some store items.

“It was important to us that we teamed up with a partner who echoed our values and community-first way of thinking,” said Dennis McIntyre, Stater Bros.’ executive vice president, and chief executive officer, in the statement. “LAFC has challenged the status quo in MLS by competing at the highest level and has proven to be a valuable contributor to our Southern California community.”

LAFC is a member of Major League Soccer’s western division.
