Gil Salazar has been promoted to senior vice president of information technology by Stater Bros. Markets Inc.
Salazar, who was also named chief information officer, has nearly 35 years of IT experience and has worked for Stater Bros. for eight years, according to a statement on the company’s website.
His first position with the supermarket chain was assistant director of operations/technical support, His most was recently senior vice president of information technology.
Before joining Stater Bros., Salazar served in senior-level leadership roles at Hyundai Capital America, ConAgra Foods, AIG, and Ford Motor Credit.
“Today, a company’s technological infrastructure and its ability to analyze business data have an extraordinary impact on its competitiveness,” said Pete Van Helden, Stater Bros.’ chairman and chief executive officer, in the statement. “With Gil’s enhanced role, we will continue to build upon the technological foundation that he facilitated, and be positioned well for the future.”
