Stater Bros. is again doing its part to help those in need during the Christmas season.
Between now and Dec. 31, the supermarket chain will conduct “Harvesting Hope,” during which all 171 of its stores will provide four ways for customers and employees to make donations intended to help the less fortunate.
- “Bag of Hope” donation cards, which are available at every checkout stand. Proceeds will provide funding, as well as fresh and healthy foods, to Stater Bros.’ food bank partners.
- Food donation barrels for nonperishable goods. Most needed items include canned tuna, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruit and whole grain cereal.
- Coin canisters at each check stand. Money collected there will go to low income seniors, veterans and families with children in need.
- Salvation Army Red Kettles will be in front of all Stater Bros.’ stores from Nov. 13 through Dec. 24.
Stater Bros., the largest private employer in the Inland Empire, is conducting “Harvesting Hope” in conjunction with its charitable arm, Stater Bros. Charities. Beneficiaries will include Feeding America Serving Riverside/San Bernardino Counties, FIND Food Bank and Inland Empire Desert Communities United Way, according to the statement.
