Stater Bros. will open a store in Highland, replacing another Stater Bros. in that city that has been in business since 1979.
The new store is at 27920 Greenspot Road, on the northeast corner of Greenspot Road and the 210 Freeway, according to a statement released June 18 by the San Bernardino-based supermarket chain.
A grand opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. June 25, after which the store will open for business.
The 46,000-square-foot store in the Greenspot Crossings shopping center is nearly twice the size off the store it’s replacing at 3633 E. Highland Ave.
The new store will include full-service meat and seafood sections, a service delicatessen and a bakery. It will also feature sushi and fresh cut fruit stations, and will have ready-to-cook items such as grilling meats and vegetables, and fresh-cut fruit.
“Growing communities need places where their residents can get fresh and affordable groceries, and Stater Bros. is proud to answer the call with this store,” said Pete Van Helden, Stater Bros.’ chief executive officer, in the statement.
Stater Bros. Charities will donate a total of $30,000 to six local non-profit organizations: the Highland District Council on Aging, Inc., Highland Head Start, Citrus Valley High School, Loma Linda University Pediatric Clinic, American Legion Post 421, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Council.
