Stater Bros. re-ups effort to prevent running out of items

Staters, Reyes Coca-Cola donate to military

Stater Bros. Charities and Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling have donated $30,000 to the Bob Hope USO.

Both entities again partnered for their annual Give Back fundraiser in May – National Military Appreciation Month – during which the soft drink company donates 25 cents for every eligible product bought at Stater Bros., according to a statement on that company’s website.

That effort raised $15,000, which Stater Bros. Charities – the San Bernardino-based supermarket chain’s charity arm – matched.

“The Give Back program embodies the essence of the USO mission by enabling the community at large to come together to support and give thanks to our armed forces and their brave military,” said Lorin Stewart, president, of the Bob Hope USO’s west region, said in the statement.

Funds will support the Bob Hope USO and USO San Diego Center. The Bob Hope USO strengthens America’s military service members, keeping them connected to their families while they’re serving their country, according to the statement.
