Strike vote OK’d

Union employees at Food 4 Less have voted to strike.

The workers voted last week but are still on the job, according to a posting Monday on the website of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 770.

Food 4 Less is a warehouse grocery chain owned by Kroger. There are about 20 Food 4 Less stores in the Inland Empire and more than 6,000 employees in Southern California.

The worker’s contract expired June 8, and no agreement has been signed extending that agreement.

Negotiations were scheduled to resume Wednesday and continue through the third week of this month, according to the website posting.
