Trucking company lands in Fontana

A company that specializes in less-than-truckload deliveries has come to the Inland Empire.

Forward Air Corp. of Greeneville, Tenn., has located in Fontana, its fifth operation in California and second in greater Los Angeles, according to a statement.

The Fontana operation will support the Inland region. The facility’s exact location and how many people will work there weren’t released.

“The Inland Empire region plays a strategic role in our expansion plans. While we can support some of our largest customers here, we are also able to link smaller businesses to our portfolio of service offerings,” said Tom Schmitt, Forward Air’s chairman, president, and chief executive officer, in the statement. “We are growing our footprint in Southern California and supporting our existing operations at the same time.”
