Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!
This week, Ed is talking about everything from reverse mortgages, to Earth Day, to the disaster known as the Clinton Foundation. Earth Day was on Wednesday, and the thousands of people who gathered on the Washington Mall for the “Global Citizen Earth Day” event trashed the area and left their mess for the city to clean up. Following that story, Ed reads some decades-old predictions made by the founders of Earth Day that may have you re-thinking the logic behind this “holiday.”
Next, Ed revisits the story of Doug Hughes, the mailman from Florida who landed his gyrocopter on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol last week because he wanted to deliver an “important message” on public corruption to members of Congress. If you have been curious about Hughes’ letter and you haven’t yet heard its contents, tune in to this week’s Main Event to hear Ed read some of it. You might find it interesting!
Speaking of public corruption, the Clinton Foundation’s unethical practices have finally been exposed for all of America to see. The new book “Clinton Cash” has pulled back the veil on the Clinton cash machine, which is driven by donations to the family’s charitable foundation – most notably, donations from foreign entities. Examples of corrupt Clinton Foundation payola that happened while Hillary Clinton was our Secretary of State include a free trade agreement that benefited a donor’s investments in Colombia, as well as his development projects in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Yes, companies with ties to the Clintons profited from the Haitian earthquake – oh, and a major Clinton Foundation benefactor has ties to Iran. Iran!
In the wake of this revelation, it has come to light that just last week, the Clinton Foundation revised its policy to prohibit donations from the Middle East. Interesting timing! Could that be because she’s now running for President? As if all this wasn’t enough, there’s also a story about a money trail linking the foundation to a uranium deal in Russia, and another one involving a Canadian mining company paying Bill Clinton more than $1 million right around the time the Keystone XL pipeline was being debated in the State Department. Hmm!
If you haven’t yet heard Ms. Clinton’s response to a reporter’s question on this sleazy nightmare, tune in to The Main Event this week to hear it. It’s hardly an answer to the question, and it makes you wonder if she plans to keep up this charade for the next 18 months. Ed is right on the money when it comes to analyzing this situation. “She should be running and hiding,” Ed says, “but instead she’s running for President.” Tune in this week to hear more!
In mortgage news, interest rates continue to be awesome, and there’s a change coming to reverse mortgages after April 28. It’s still a great program, though; tune in to this week’s show to hear Ed explain how he recently helped a senior with this outstanding mortgage product, which he uses to help people actually retire when they reach retirement age. Older homeowners who are interested should contact Ed at Wholesale Capital Corporation to learn more! Ed can also help younger homeowners refinance for a lower interest rate and a lower monthly mortgage payment.
