Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!
This week, Ed begins by reminding everyone to come out to the Push-Ups for Charity event at his business, Wholesale Capital Corporation in Moreno Valley, on July 25 at 10:30 AM. The event will benefit The Boot Campaign, a non-profit veteran’s charity that provides grants to deserving wounded veterans. If you can’t make it to the event to do push-ups, you can still donate to the cause at www.EdHoffman.net.
Next, Ed and guest Scott MacAfee analyze what some are calling the Donald Trump Effect. Trump came in first in two national polls this week, taking a sizeable share of likely Republican primary voters. Ed, a long-time supporter of Trump among a few other candidates, has some thoughts as to why people are responding this way. “Donald Trump is saying the things people are thinking,” Ed says. “We’re tired of illegal immigrants coming over and making us pay for them. We’re tired of hearing we don’t want to upset radical Muslims. I want to call a spade a spade, and Trump is saying it.”
Ed believes that Trump spoke the truth when he said that many illegal immigrants are committing violent crimes. “When 80 percent of illegal immigrant women say they’re being sexually assaulted on their way over, who could it be that’s raping them? It’s not the border patrol.” He believes that statistic proves Trump right.
As for the other candidates, many of them are distancing themselves from Trump and doing their best to make sure people know they reject his comments. One of them is former Texas Governor Rick Perry, who was Ed’s favorite candidate until this week. Tune in to hear his thoughts on Perry now.
Next it’s on to discussing Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, who announced his candidacy this week and continues to earn enthusiasm from Republican voters. This week, Walker took the number two spot in at least two national polls. Ed and Scott play clips from Walker’s announcement, provide analysis and explain just how significant Walker’s accomplishments in Wisconsin have been.
After that, Ed discusses the tragic shooting at a Marine base in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which killed four Marines. Naturally, the media is hesitant to call this “Islamic terror” and for that reason, Ed has plenty to say. Tune in to hear it!
Finally, Ed addresses the Iranian nuclear agreement announced this week – the one that gives the terrorist nation everything, and the United States nothing. If you haven’t yet heard all the concessions we made in this disaster of a deal, tune in to The Main Event to hear about them. If you weren’t angry before, you will be – because there’s a lot to get angry about, and you need to know about it as we enter the 2016 election cycle.
