Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!
This week, Ed starts out with a little bit of mortgage news; the Fed did not raise interest rates, which means it’s still a great time to buy a home. Ed reminds listeners to call Wholesale Capital Corporation if they’re interested in taking advantage of these continuously low rates.
After that, the show is all about the second Republican presidential debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Thursday. Ed believes Carly Fiorina was the winner of the night, although many of the next-day polls still had Donald Trump coming out on top. “It was amazing to me that Newsmax and Drudge had different results than I did,” Ed says. He believes Trump’s strategy now is to employ the motto, “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS.” He plays some of Trump’s debate highlights and lowlights, which include trading barbs with Rand Paul and saying Carly Fiorina is “a beautiful woman.” While Ed was entertained, he says, “There are some things Trump isn’t trained to think about.” After Fiorina said Trump’s comments about women “speak for themselves,” Ed says, “He just looked stupid.” If you agree, tune in to The Main Event this week to hear more.
As for many people’s “number two,” Dr. Ben Carson, Ed believes, “Ben Carson wasted a great opportunity to blow away Trump. He missed it.” Thoughts on the other candidates follow, including Jeb Bush, who Ed found to be “weak, nervous, and not very presidential” – and Marco Rubio, who Ed says “was spouting off the same lines he has on every campaign stop.” Unlike many viewers who were impressed by Ted Cruz, Ed was not – and he refuses to vote for him for one specific reason, no matter what. Tune in to hear what it is! Whether you watched the entire debate or you need to be brought up to speed, The Main Event has the political analysis you need to get through the weekend.
On this week’s show, you’ll also hear:
- About the Texas teenager who was invited to the White House after being arrested for making a suspicious-looking clock at school
- A deep dive into the Iranian nuclear agreement – great for anyone who needs to hear it!
- Where Trump went wrong on his knowledge of the crisis in Syria
- Which candidates Ed wants to “go home!”
