Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday Morning at 9:30 on AM590

Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, as well as real estate and mortgage trends. Ed delivers intelligent radio with unique, witty and irreverent flair.

This week, Ed welcomes special guest Larry Elder! Larry has been host of The Larry Elder Show since 1994, which was broadcast on Talk Radio 790 in Southern California for 20 years and is now exclusively heard on his website, LarryElder.com. If you have ever wanted to hear how a career in talk radio begins, tune in this week to hear Larry explain how he got started; it’s a great story, and a very motivating one! Larry knows the challenges of being an outspoken African-American conservative in the media, and he’s not afraid to stand up to the name callers. In the first half of the show, hear Larry describe his inspiring journey to professional success.

In the second half, Ed and Larry kick things off with the latest chapter of the Ferguson debacle – specifically, the “race hustler” response to the Justice Department report that Officer Darren Wilson should not face federal charges for the death of Michael Brown – with refreshing candor. “We shouldn’t be marching on Times Square, and we shouldn’t be marching in Ferguson either,” Larry says. Tune in to hear why he believes high profile African-Americans must stop blaming police misconduct, and start looking to behaviors within their own culture, when it comes to young black men being “targeted” by police.

“My father said when you encounter a police officer, say ‘yes sir, no sir,’” Larry says. “If you feel you’re being mistreated, get his name and badge number.” Furthermore, Larry says, “The implosion of the black family has to do with the welfare state.” He proposes ending the welfare state entirely, and replacing it with private charitable giving the way the founding fathers intended.

Next, Ed and Larry discuss Hillary Clinton’s email controversy, starting with the press conference where she denied using her personal email account for government business. “The Associated Press put out a fact check on her conference, and they excoriated her,” Larry says. “I’m hearing a lot of people in her camp say a lot of negative things.” The secret nobody wants to let out of the bag, Larry says, is that many in the media – and, many Democrats – have actually never liked Hillary, going back decades to her time as First Lady. Tune in to hear his reasons why, and to hear who Larry believes could possibly give Hillary a run for her money when it comes to getting the Democratic nomination in 2016.
