Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national current events and politics, with a few mortgage tips along the way. Ed delivers intelligent, entertaining radio that makes hard news easy to understand!
If you listened to the show last week, you heard Ed say that Hillary Clinton’s health is in peril – and as it turns out, he was predicting the future. As most listeners know, Clinton fainted during the 9/11 memorial event last Sunday and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Ed and his guest Scott will analyze the week’s events, including all the spin control by her campaign, her husband and daughter, and of course the mainstream media.
If you missed seeing the pundits on MSNBC overdo it on explaining away Clinton’s pneumonia, you’ll hear the comically long-winded segment on this week’s show. It includes the MSNBC gang calling the 77-degree weather “absolutely horrible” and acting as if fainting is a normal part of daily life. In regards to Hillary emerging from Chelsea’s apartment claiming to feel great on Sunday, Ed says, “My B.S. meter is up…this lady, something’s wrong with her.”
You’ll also hear about the sneaky editing CBS did on the 60 Minutes segment where Bill Clinton claimed that Hillary has “rarely” fainted in the past. Hint: It involves them removing the word “frequently.” Ed wraps up the segment discussing Trump’s health, and saying that he’s astonished with how much energy Trump has. “I just don’t think Hillary is even in the same league,” Ed says.
In the second half, we’re talking about former Secretary of State Colin Powell ripping into Hillary Clinton in emails sent throughout 2014 to 2016, according to a document dump of hacked emails published on DCLeaks.com. You’ll hear excerpts from Powell’s most fascinating emails on this week’s The Main Event: everything from his frustration with her for claiming that her email practices are the same his was, to him saying he would “rather not have to vote for her” because she is “greedy” and not transformational, to calling her staff “minions” and saying that Bill Clinton continues to have “bimbos” in his life – even complaining that he had lost speaking fee money because of Hillary. It’s astounding stuff you don’t want to miss!
When she returned to the campaign trail Thursday, Clinton hit the ground running by reviving the connection between Donald Trump and the Obama birther controversy – and Friday, Trump attempted to end it once and for all. If you missed this on the news this week, catch it on The Main Event this weekend. Ed plays Hillary Clinton’s accusation that Trump “refuses to say” Obama was born in the United States, followed by Trump’s next-day statement, “Barack Obama was born in the United States, period.” Ed’s reaction: “Off he walked, and I just want to say, bam!” he says.
On this week’s show, you’ll also hear:
- Ed and Scott describe a local Trump rally that took place in Upland
- An interesting metaphor that compares United Flight 93 to the presidential election
- An unbelievable story about John Kerry’s daughter funneling millions of dollars through the Peace Corps
