Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM 590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market with unique, witty and irreverent flair.
This week Ed discusses the stock market, the relevance of Benghazi in today’s political climate, and dissects President Obama’s speech he delivered last week which blames the GOP of inaction.
For those of you who have investments in the form of a 401K or mutual fund (retirement accounts) Ed strongly advises that you transfer your money out of the stock market and invest it in a money market account or in real estate, for he predicts an impending financial crash that will make the one in 2008 seem benign. Ed highlights factors that support his dire prediction, and offers an example of how his employee was able to make a healthy return on investment with minimal out-of-pocket expense and encourages listeners to do likewise.
Ed plays a clip from a YouTube video that portrays Bill Whittle outlining in great detail the timeline of the events leading up to and following the Benghazi attacks that claimed four Americans lives. The compelling video highlights the lies that President Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton perpetuated that blamed an internet video for the attacks, rather than their incompetence and complacency in response to repeated requests for increased security at the embassy. Whittle shines a direct and unflattering light on the minimal level of competence and character our president possesses.
In a speech Obama delivered last week he blamed the Republicans for blocking every idea and issue that would help the middle class in regards to raising the unemployment rate, fair pay for women, solving the immigration problem and investing in education. For each point that Obama broached, Ed shoots back with a differing opinion, highlighting the fact of how out of touch from reality and unqualified this president is.
Amid all this political disarray, there is hope. Ed plays a clip of an everyman, Peggy Joseph, who, back in 2008 at one of Obama’s campaign rallies, was ecstatic and gushed to a reporter how excited she was that she wouldn’t have to worry about paying her mortgage or putting gas in her car under Obama’s presidency. Tune in to hear how Joseph’s opinion has changed since then, likening Obama to the little man behind the curtain on The Wizard of Oz.
