The first issue discussed was job creation. Adams describes how the city of Riverside, over the last ten years, has worked to create new jobs and its success evident in being named the top job creator in the nation, as well as taking the lead in highest revenue jobs. UC Riverside opening a full medical school was central in creating jobs in the area.
The conversation turned to housing where Ed and Adams share the same view that government interference will only have a negative impact on the housing market, such as the lowering of FHA loans from $500,000 to $350,350. Tune in to hear how the lowered limit affects you as a homebuyer.
Adams discusses how the goods movement has had a negative impact on this region over the last fifty years and shares his immediate solution to the problem that would not entail new taxes. Ed agrees with his vision as he does with his opinion on energy independence. They both concur that energy independence is absolutely necessary for both the economic health of the region and nation.
Adams concludes on the issue of education, and Ed shares his opinion that vocational training, mentorship and internship programs need to be part of the core curriculum as early as elementary school. Adams illustrates for listeners the success of Riverside’s educational system and how they strive to provide students with the necessary tools for success.
