Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM 590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market with unique, witty and irreverent flair.
This week Ed is “mad as hell” at how disengaged people are when it comes to the situations affecting this country, for example the VA hiding delayed wait times resulting in dozens of unnecessary deaths of veterans who served this country selflessly only to be so egregiously maltreated. This week it hits close to home as Ed sadly announced the passing of veteran Ray Apodaca, 69, who had become a friend through the refinancing process. Tune into hear Ray’s fateful misdiagnosis two years ago at the Loma Linda VA Hospital, his needless suffering and the anguish this has caused his family.
Ed emphasizes that we as a collective society need to push for change, to become engaged in what’s happening to our democracy if there’s any hope for our children’s and grandchildren’s future. Ed derides those who claim lack of time and/or money prevents them from getting involved, and warns that if changes are not made we will lose America as we know it.
The IRS is probably the most powerful agency in this country, with the authority to drain a taxpayer’s bank account and garnish wages. Ed offers his own experience with the IRS and the ordeal he faced to resolve those issues. Then he turns the table and demands to know why the IRS, when accused of wrongdoing, dismissively claims lost emails and ignorance.
Listen to why we don’t have a choice but to go back and fight in Iraq, and the proposal Ed offers to secure our borders.
This week Ed also interviews Rich Temme who offers an interesting perspective on the recent Supreme Court rulings regarding Obama’s recess appointments, particularly within the National Labor Relations Board, and what needs to occur in this country to prevent its decline on the global market.
Catch Ed Hoffman, host of The Main Event, on air this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with encore presentations at 9 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m.
