Tune in to The Main Event this Saturday morning at 9:30 on AM590 with host Ed Hoffman as he discusses national, regional and local current events, as well as trends in the local real estate market with unique, witty and irreverent flair.
Ed begins this week’s show with a tribute to Robin Williams, playing clips from several of his movies that highlight the power of the human spirit and the importance of embracing life to the fullest, ubiquitous in most of his films.
On the news this past week there has been much coverage over the officer-involved shooting death of Michael Brown, 18, in Ferguson, MO, where protests involved residents throwing Molotov cocktails, destroying businesses and looting. Ed expresses his disdain over the actions of these individuals, questions the repeated use of the race card, and opines on who the real racists are.
Ed expresses his astonishment that Obama spoke about the Brown incident, and the U.S. Attorney General paid the Brown family a visit – since when does the AG show a bias in such a blatant way? Ed offers examples of white Americans who were failed by the Obama administration, one of whom is still rotting away in a Mexican prison five months later without a single mention from the White House about his predicament and unwarranted imprisonment.
Ed delivers a recap of American involvement in Iraq and blames the Obama administration’s abandonment of Iraq for the ISIS takeover of the Middle East and the innumerable atrocities executed against Christians, including the decapitation of young children. He plays a clip of Obama’s repeated declarations that it was he who ended the war in Iraq, followed by an interview in which the president was asked about the withdrawal of ground troops in Iraq in which he contradicted himself and answered, “…I find it interesting to the degree in which this issue keeps coming up, as if this was my decision.” Tune in to hear Ed’s response to that statement and his derision about how the White House has handled the ISIS takeover of Iraq.
Tax inversion has been much discussed as of late, and refers to companies are merging with overseas companies in order to save money on taxes. Obama is trying to make this legal process illegal, to which Ed strongly disagrees, and offers his solution for overtaxed businesses.
Ed shares his profitable experience on a cellular tower situated on a piece of commercial property he owns, and the return on investment he will earn as a result of its sale when he makes that money work for him in real estate.
